Our In-Depth TAG Course for Nervous System Regulation is a Master’s level course and a deep dive. By the end of the training you will not only be trauma competent, but empowered in working with trauma.

You will no longer have to feel nervous about trauma showing up in your place of work, or worry about how to support your colleagues or employees. You will be able to recognize what is going on and will have multiple tools at your fingertips to help.

In our In-Depth Course, you will learn the definition and causes of trauma: historical, cultural, familial, and personal. You will learn the ways that trauma shows up in behaviors, emotions, and bodies.

Drawing from the very latest research in neuroscience and neuropsychology, you will learn what happens in the brain when a person experiences trauma and how that impacts the entire body.

This training will be comprised of four main sections, and we will be weaving ethical considerations and guidelines throughout the training:

  • what is trauma and what causes it
  • how trauma manifests in symptoms and behaviors
  • the neurobiology of trauma and healing
  • how to facilitate the healing process

We have taken the best parts of multiple models, tools, interventions, and research, and woven them together into a single training. You will learn basics from parts work, HeartMath, dance/movement therapy, art therapy, somatics, Brainspotting, systems theory, psychedelics, the latest in neuroscience, acupressure, and more. We also address working with neurodivergent clients and how to support different neurotypes.

By the end of the training you will be fully ready to integrate The TAG Method into your work and life.

What makes this training different?

What makes this training different from so many out there is the live portion, with access to Katherine and Maria throughout the duration of the training. We will meet for two hours weekly over Zoom for 20 sessions, designed to be easily scheduled into your calendar. During these two hours we will not be droning at you or presenting slides. Instead, we will be engaging in somatic exercises, deep self-inquiry, and creating lots of spaciousness for your questions.

Each cohort is capped at 20 people to ensure in-depth personal attention.

There will be homework between live sessions so that you are prepared with the information needed to fully engage in the synchronistic portion. This homework will be readings, videos, exercises, forum posts, and perhaps an art project or two! There is an online classroom where cohort members connect and ask questions of us and each other.

We have created a space of lively discussion, furthering and deepening all of our understandings.

We appreciate that everyone will be coming to this training with different backgrounds and levels of understanding. We welcome all questions, insights and perspectives. While this will not be a traditionally “safe” space, it will be a brave one. However, to be clear, there will be no allowance for racist, misogynistic, or queerphobic rhetoric or language. Attention will also be brought to ableist language. The words we use shape the way we see the world, and how we see ourselves.

Part of the healing journey is in choosing the ways we engage with language and the ripple of repercussions – both negative and positive.

In order to fully avail yourself of everything this course has to offer, please plan to spend 5+ hours per week for both prep and class time. The majority of essential reading is packed into the first half of the course leaving time for experientials and practice in the latter half. So much of the richness comes from the live engagement between cohort members and Katherine and Maria.
